Here we gooooo! Thank you all for the votes, feedback, and patience on this request. It's going to take some time to deliver the full solution, but we are in progress on the work to bring duration, non-working days, and scheduling/rescheduling universally to ClickUp! We'll have a number of deliveries along the way that will each build on each other. More details to come!

Would like to have API endpoints to use for this too so we can tie it to Rippling (or have native integration). We don't want to force people to set it in multiple places.

I have different members on my team that have different work weeks. Some are Sat/Sun only, Some are partial week + Sat/Sun, some are M-F.
Is that something we'll be able to do?

To allow team members to set leave or vacation dates and prevent others from assigning tasks on those dates, you can implement a leave management system or use features within your project management or team collaboration tools. Here's a general approach you can take:
- Leave Management System: Implement a leave management system where team members can submit their leave or vacation requests. This system should allow team members to specify the dates they will be unavailable and the reason for their absence.
- Approval Workflow: Set up an approval workflow where leave requests must be approved by a manager or designated approver. This ensures that leave requests are reviewed and approved before they are finalized.
- Integration with Project Management Tools: Integrate your leave management system with your project management or team collaboration tools. This allows team members to view their colleagues' leave or vacation dates directly within the tools they use for task assignment and project planning.
- Visibility of Leave Dates: Ensure that team members' leave or vacation dates are visible to everyone within the team. This helps colleagues plan and schedule tasks accordingly, knowing when certain team members will be unavailable.
- Blocking Task Assignment: Configure your project management or task assignment tools to prevent task assignment on leave or vacation dates. This can be achieved by setting up rules or restrictions that automatically block task assignment on those dates.
- Notifications: Set up notifications or alerts to remind team members when they are attempting to assign tasks to someone who is on leave or vacation. This helps prevent inadvertent task assignments and encourages team members to plan around their colleagues' absence.
- Flexibility and Adjustments: Allow for flexibility in case leave dates need to be adjusted or changed. Provide a mechanism for team members to update their leave requests or for managers to make adjustments as needed.
By implementing these steps, you can effectively manage leave or vacation dates for your team members and ensure that tasks are assigned and scheduled appropriately, taking into account team members' availability.https://dgcustomerfirst.fun/.

I'd prefer the option that only admins can set vacation days / leave.
Is that possible?

The workdays in Israel are sun-thu and not mon-fri
and I want to change that through the whole workspace (workload, calendar, gantt view)

Anthony C. The lack of this feature was why I was considering dropping ClickUp. It made working in this tool so much harder. I’m beyond excited to hear this and will stick around to see how it goes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I see Click Up is working this into a scheduling functionality/update- but I think a quick fix that would be really helpful would be being able to set up like an OOO or vacation responder!
We have people in click up that are remote and on totally different teams and often have no visibility into if co-workers are in or out of office. In the meantime, we have encouraged team members to update their name to include their OOO dates, so when someone goes to tag them, they see they are OOO.

Great suggestion!!!

It would be great to show these away times on a gantt chart as well while you are planning out a project. Perhaps with a mark on the dates at the top if one of the assigned members is marked as absent and a roll out option to see which members these are.

Ivan Villa Hi Ivan, do you have an update on this? Just a little message that you're keeping an eye on this thread would be awesome! (:
Ivan Villa
Hey Flore! Thanks for the nudge. I will pass it along to the team lead on the scheduling side.
Anthony C.
Flore: No real update quite yet, but we are scoping out some scheduling work right now and this will be a big piece of it! This will touch everything from calendar and Gantt to rescheduling dependencies and applying templates so it's a pretty major endeavor, but we're excited to tackle it!
Flore
Anthony C.: That sounds awesome! Please don't forget the workload. A lot of people in this thread would love this feature in that view. There are a lot of great tips and ideas in all of the comments.
Anthony C.
Flore: Yes, capacity will be reduced by non-working days, which will show up in the workload view among other places.

Anthony C. How come on workload no option to included weekends? im assuming alot of people work weekends? or at least have some task to do?
Anthony C.
Angel: On Business Plus and Enterprise plans you can set the hours per day separately for each day of the week. https://help.clickup.com/hc/en-us/articles/6310449699735-Use-Workload-view#h_6d3cf4ee7d
