🙏 Mindmap Top-Down Hierarchy View (for things like Sitemaps, Org Charts, etc.)
Eric G
It would be very useful to have a Top-Down Hierarchical view and organization for Mindmaps.
This would be huge for teams building hierarchical projects, like websites, apps, etc.
Here's a video of how this can look like: https://www.screencast.com/t/83j9feKH5z3

Another powerful option would be to allow users create automated-mindmaps based on any field rather than task/subtasks alone, meaning to leverage fields like People, tags, dates, custom fields etc.
In this case for example, a person can quickly generate Company Org charts based on :Customfield:'Division' // Person name // Customfield: role //Customfield : Expertise.
And being able to swap around the order of fields to create mindmaps for an INFINITE use of ideas. That is really useful from my perspective.
Other examples: Create a skill based organigram for a project, collect tasks associated to tags, etc...
The option of "Node-based Mind Maps" is not scalable and requires high maintenance by singular individuals, always prone from not being up to date, so never a reliable source of truthful information.

This would be a brilliant expansion of the Mindmap view!

So important and so simple.

Show Subtasks as Nested under Parent Task in Whiteboard View
Les
I'd like to use the Clickup OKRs template (or build my own) and be able to align these OKRs with connecting arrows in whiteboard view. In the template Objectives are parent tasks and Key Results are nested subtasks.
If Whiteboard would allow the parent task (okr) to expand and contract showing the subtasks (key results).
Also show more details on the tasks like tags, number of subtasks, progress bar, etc...
Clickup is missing visual alignment features.
Perhaps alignment for goals. Some way to VISUALLY show the big picture of the direction we are heading and in what order.
Last idea - maybe this can be done quicker by creating a view where task linking can show alignment of linked tasks.

Would be nice to add tasks as the truckture of the mindmap view right into a whiteboard, also sure in top-down optioonal.
So all connections and relationships are shown in the whiteboard and could be edited in whiteboard.

We know this is important to many of you. There are other initiatives in the works to help solve for things like Org Charts and Whiteboards to help with more fluid Mind Mapping.
In the meantime, we're focusing on making List view and Board view great. If Whiteboards don't solve your needs in the near term, please let us know.

Brian Shen: Mindmaps functionality being so weak to be unuseable is the only thing preventing me from exclusively using Clickup for productivity. To be frank, it's so bad you should just delete the code and start from scratch with it. Acquire a company like mindomo / mindmeister or setup integrations or re-design a better feature. I don't think it should be built upon what you have now. It's not up to the tier of quality of other clickup features.

Ryan Fisler: I agree, it's too barebones now compared to any real mind map tool out there. It basically is a list in mind map format with no special features that would make me choose it over whiteboard right now.

Brian Shen - do you have any updates on this one?

Need to merge whiteboards and mindmap functionality
Lauren Perfors
YES! We actually wanted to use the mindmap function for our website sitemaps, and we had to move that over to FIGMA because it just didn't work well in ClickUp.

whimsical.com does an awesome job at this. Maybe use it as inspiration

This would be wonderful to have!
