Please can you add 'time tracked' to the portfolio section

Hi team, just noticed that you've marked this as 'complete'. ClickUp's definition of Portfolios is different from most program managers'. It should be pulling up the various projects to view the status of each project, instead of the current feature where you pull different high level lists within each project.

Zeb
No offense to you and your hard working team here, but I have to agree with Cody - portfolios with its current focus on lists feels underwhelming and more of a half baked feature (or a rework of Goals) then a fully composed and a brand new feature many of us expected.
I expected the Portfolios feature to providing visibility into a performance of a grouping of projects and/or programs (i.s. Salesforce implementations projects across different markets) rather then the list progress visibility - which more aligns with the milestones view.
Hopefully you folks will be working on a Portfolios 2 release that will provide more visibility into progress at projects level and will include visibility into overall trending, progress, timeline, risks, issues, resourcing, budget, next release dates, and similar value points... Ideally, I'd love to see Portfolio's align with KPIs (Goals)...
Again, ClickUp team is building what is shaping to be a great and I hope the best productivity platform, and I wish you all the best in your endeavor, but in its current form Portfolios fall short of expectations...
Cheers!
Zack
Drag Ivko: This was politely articulated and I also agree. I thought portfolios was going to help provide a high-level view over different organizations.
Example: I may have a Web Projects space with 34 website projects inside. I'm looking for a way to track the progress of those projects at a glance. (without having to meticulously add/remove lists from within the projects themselves. I mostly wanted to see a percentage or color indication so that I know, "hey this project is fine," or, "this project may need attention."
Please also correct me if there's already a way to do this that I missed.
Cody
Great feature!
Are there plans to make it possible to add Projects to Portfolios, once Projects have their own statuses and assignees? I was surprised by the focus on Lists
C
Cara Urban
Cody: Agreed - the ability to group Projects and/or Spaces together to view hierarchically was the main thing I was hoping for from Portfolios.
Zeb
Cara Urban: Cody Absolutely, Projects will be added very soon. With 2.0, we are changing some things and this is why we didn't immediately add them as we would have to change it in a few weeks anyway.
Cody
Zeb: Great, thanks for the reply. I'm really looking forward to 2.0, I love what you guys are doing. Really leading the pack in this field
Drag Ivko
Zeb: Thanks for providing additional info! Looking forward to 2.0!
Any way I can join beta and be an early tester / adopter?
Thank!
Zeb
Drag Ivko: Absolutely, we'll send invites to the BETA program out later this month.
CY CHAN
Zeb: Pls include me in the beta? Thanks!
Gavin Carvell
Zeb I'd love to be included in ClickUp 2.0 beta and would be happy to test functionality and provide feedback
Zeb
Gavin Carvell: We'll be sending email invites out in the next couple of weeks :)

Cody: Need this so much .. Organised by project (one click addition to a portfolio which includes all current lists and keeps it up to date with new/deleted lists in the project) - with a summary of list statuses when the list view is collapsed ...

Zeb: Please could I be involved in the beta program?

Zeb: Hi Zeb! Can you please include me in the 2.0 beta invite! Thank you so much!
Cody
Will Sargent: There is a beta sign up area at the bottom of the Clickup 2.0 April Fools release, you guys can sign up there:

Zeb: Are we going to hit 2.0 in May? I've got a team waiting to build processes around ClickUp, or -- an I would HATE to do this -- look elsewhere. We believe there is a strong shot this is going to be a revolutionary platform and we're enjoying using it. But we're dying to see some of the features promised in 2.0. There was no update about missing April until May. Please keep the community up-to-date. I'm holding back onboarding tons of people and telling everyone to wait patiently. Hoping you all are on track but, real, accurate communication one way or the other would go a very long way.
Zeb
J.Todd Smith: We will definitely have our first couple rounds of the BETA this month and into June, we'll have a public release in July.
L
Leilei Bi
Zeb: It's now in July, is the Project Portfolio view available yet?
Zeb
Leilei Bi: 2.0 is in BETA and will be released publicly soon, but the Portfolios update is not shipping with the initial release. My best estimate right now is September
Drag Ivko
Zeb:
Can we have any insight into upcoming Portfolio features?
Zeb
Drag Ivko: Right now, the scope is to add Folder functionality as well as a column to track and linked Goals/Targets to the Lists that you're tracking. But we are also considering this: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/merge-portfolios-into-goals
Drag Ivko
Zeb:
I would strongly suggest to go for merging portfolios into goals and to develop a brand new Portfolio feature later on that is more in line with PMI principles but that also has its own unique features already discussed bon these pages.
Thanks!

Leilei Bi
Zeb: Thank you for the quick reply! Look forward to the new feature in September.

Zeb: Hi Zeb! I'm confused by this, in November '19 it looks to me like portfolios 2.0 still doesn't support Spaces or Folders, still just lists. Is expansion to true portfolio scope (top-level view of initiatives, projects, strategies) still in the works? Or maybe I missed some way to do this (I'm a clickup novice). Tips?

@Zeb Awesome feature but sad to see private setting limited to business plan. Also since there is at least some form of calculation field aswell as a progress bar for lists implemented within portfolios, can we expect them to be available in the default list view aswell in the near feature?
PS: A search bar aswell as portfolios being included in global search results would be awesome!
Zeb
Update: Portfolios are now in our staging environment and is scheduled to be released in about two weeks. Custom Fields for Portfolios will be released shortly after the first version.
Gavin Carvell
Zeb: Awesome! 🎉 Look forward to it...

Zeb: Is there anything more you can show or share about how this will be implemented? We are looking for something much like what Fabien Calais mentions in his December 2018 post..."Rich" data about projects at the project level allowing a strategic view, and ability to drill into specific projects to get things done. I've seen some point/counter point with other tools like Asana. For what it's worth, what Asana does with Portfolios is a start and in the direction of what we are looking for. However, there seem to be arbitrary (perhaps architectural...) limits of # of projects per portfolio and # of custom fields in a portfolio view that are very limiting. Hope that's not the case here. Thanks for your time, and can't wait to see the new features soon!

Zeb: What are Portfolios? Trying to decide how important it is in relation to upgrading to Business account during sale.
Zeb
Abbie Friesen: We'll honor the discount for you next week as well. Portfolios will be released Monday or Tuesday, so you can play with them before upgrading. Just mention that I said we would honor the promo for you.
Zack
Zeb: Sweet! Looking forward to that release!
A
Abbie Friesen
Zeb: How nice! Hoping I haven't missed the release. Don't see if online, so waiting, but hope it won't be released before the discount period is over.
Zeb
Abbie Friesen: It's a bit delayed (might be next week) but regardless we will still honor the discount!
Cody
Zeb: Are Portfolios going to be a free or Unlimited feature?
A

Cody: I'd like to know this as well. :)
Cody
Amber C.: Looks like it's going to be another '100 uses' thing:
Hope it's a good feature

Zeb: Is there an updated release date for Portfolios?
Karen Brackett
Zeb: any updates on when the custom fields will be added to portfolios?
T
Trevor Hawley
Zeb: any updates on Custom Fields for Portfolios? I do web designs and SEO campaign and I need to see top level project statuses and notes such as general project recommendations for my clients. (a list = 1x project for me). Currently I have no way to see a total list of all projects (aka portfolio list) and see custom notes on each one which seems would require a custom text field. Thanks for implementing so many great features so far!
Waleed Elaghil
Hey Trevor Hawley! Customs Fields in Portfolio is indeed useful and it's in our pipeline. I would suggest you vote this post to stay updated on its progress 🙂

Virtual Space or Dashboard with Favorite Projects
E
Emil Shenfeld
Having a place to manage favorite projects residing in several spaces.
With many projects and functions that compose our work, there are always some that require special attention.
It would be excellent to be able to group the in one place.
Presently I move the dpecial projects to a separate space. This require some changes to be made regarding visibility, etc.

Apologies if this was already mentioned, from the Portfolio view in Asana there is a drill though Status Report (screen shot attached) after clicking on any project, a ClickUP version of this status view would be GOLD! especially with the ability to add commentary.
Petzäll
I'd also love this feature/view to be shareable via a link. I need a project status dashboard at our offices and to be able to share this view as a read-only public URL (no toolbars etc.) would be perfect for that!
