Add multiple time estimates to multiple people on a task
complete
Tommy Butcher
Right now I can add multiple people to a task, but for reporting and dashboards it takes all the estimated time and assigns it to both people. So for example, if I had two people where one needed to spend 30 minutes and the other needed to spend 2 hours it assigns 2.5 hours to each person in the Workload and Dashboard view. It would be nice if I could estimate the amount of time for each person on the task so their Workload/Capacity would be more accurate.

Complete?! It doesn't seem to have been implemented actually. If I assign a task to 2 people, the time necessary to be completed (set as a custom number field) doesn't split among the 2 people

Use the Rollup Time Estimates ClickApp to assign different time estimates based on multiple assignees

Waleed Elaghil: This is not complete, subtasks with the same name and different people is not effective or efficient. The same way we add multiple people to a task and log hours, we should be able to predict hours for multiple people on the same task. The rollup does nothing for multiple people on the same task. Please mark as incomplete because you either misunderstood the the problem or found a horrible way to fix the problem that has to be redone, especially if you want to be taken seriously by real companies.

Waleed Elaghil: Could you maybe be a little more considerate in setting posts to complete? Frankly, this does not at all help the actual issue.
To illustrate:
We normally have multiple people on the same task which makes the estimates in the workload view as well as our time reporting widget unusable.
In the time reporting widget, the sum of all estimates is much much bigger, than the actual estimate because tasks will just show up multiple times if multiple people are assigned.
And no, creating a subtask for each assignee is not an option because in most use cases, project managers will estimate a task long before assigning it, or even knowing who will be on the team!

Merged in a post:
Divide estimated time between number of users assigned
Skeps B.V.
Currently in reporting > time estimated, every user assigned to the task, gets the full amount of estimated time.
It would be nice to automatically divide the estimated time between the number of users assigned to the task.

This other post relates to the same: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/add-multiple-time-estimates-to-multiple-people-on-a-task
In my case what I need is each member splitted by the time they entered to the task, in other words, if Maria entered 4h and Jose 5h then in the workload view the right calculate should display:
Maria: 4h
Jose: 5h

this is particularly critical when using the workload estimator and box view. it makes this view almost unusable because it is very inaccurate to see the total estimated task time added to each of the team members assigned to that specific task.

This is an absolute necessity, one way or another. The reporting wiew does not give the same time estimate total as the list view (which seems wrong most of the time anyway), because the calculations are not the same.
I need a way to have a reliable calculation of the sum of my estimates !

I support idea to have estimate reported per assigned user BUT I'm not really sure about automatically dividing the estimated time between the number of users assigned to the task. Ideal would be to have a choice if we want estimate to be calculated per user as a SUM of all tasks (estimated) assigned to him in full or estimates assigned to multiple-people should be divided by number of people.
Most important feature for me is to be able to look at the list, see the estimate for the whole list, then filter by assignee and see the estimate for that individual user on that list rather than for the whole list.
Thank you for reporting this Skeps B.V.

Łukasz Zygmunt: i don't think that this thread is suggesting that the total task time should not appear on the task. just that when you are looking at the estimated amount of task time assigned to multiple team members it should not be adding the total task time to each of their work loads, it should be dividing that time between the team members.

That's why we still use Everhour, what is allowing this and more.
It would be so great to track time with ClickUp native. But so far we need to have some privacy for time tracking, as e. g. in our case mostly freelancers are in the game and shouldn't see other users times and estimates, or even rates.

It could work if you are able to edit the time per person. Other than that, It's better to use subtask and aggregate the estimation in the parent task.

This is an awesome idea!
